District Information:

  • Universal Mask Policies in School Buildings: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently announced that fully vaccinated individuals may stop wearing face coverings in certain settings. However, the CDC confirmed shortly thereafter that it recommends schools continue to use the current COVID-19 prevention strategies for the 2020-2021 school year. Some families have been asking if the District will change our mask mandate. We will not be changing our mask protocols. The District will continue to follow the recommendations of CT-DPH and the CSDE, requiring masks for staff, students, and visitors until the end of the school year. The mask requirement extends to parent pick-up at CES and JJIS. We anticipate updated recommendations for summer activities and next school year by the end of the month and we will adjust our procedures accordingly.

  • Emergency Broadband Benefit: The Federal Communications Commission has launched a temporary program to help families and households struggling to afford Internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Emergency Broadband Benefit provides a discount of up to $50 per month toward broadband service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers. Eligibility Criteria. The program provides credits to existing as well as new customers. Eligible households can enroll through a participating broadband provider or directly with the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) using an online or mail in application. You can learn more about the benefit, including eligibility and enrollment information, by visiting  www.fcc.gov/broadbandbenefit, or by calling 833-511-0311.
  • Access to Parent Portal in PowerSchool for 2021-22:  CPS is requiring all families to update student information forms and review school related documents prior to the start of the 2021-22 academic year. Families will be able to access the Parent Portal in order to complete all paperwork on August 16, 2021. Families will not be able to see their student's next year teacher or course schedule until after August 16 and upon the completion of all required paperwork in the Parent Portal.
