With inclement weather on the horizon, we wanted to share how our 6-day rotation schedule will work in the event of a snow day. If school is canceled, that day will simply be dropped from the rotation. For example, if a snow day occurs on Monday which is a Day 3, the next school (Tuesday) day will remain Day 4 as originally planned. This helps keep our schedule consistent and ensures that instructional plans continue smoothly once we return.

In technology class this week, third graders explored using the Google Toolbar and used specific tools to make working within Google Docs easier. Fourth graders explored a

new scholarly source, World Book online, to help them do research and fifth graders focused on curricular projects involving research! Students applied their research skills to find information about countries, Indigenous Peoples’, and explorers to name a few.

At book check out, Students have enjoyed using Magic School AI to pick their next “new book!”

This opportunity has been helpful for students who are looking for a new book, but unsure of what to pick. Many students have been excited to find these books on our library shelves!

In fourth grade students have started a Social Studies unit on the regions of the United States. Students will explore the different regions of the country, their geography, climate, resources, and culture. This will be an exciting unit that also connects directly to their upcoming shadow play project. Over the next several weeks, students will: collaborate to write a script, design and create shadow puppets, rehearse scenes and prepare for a final performance.
