Course Selections for Next Year (current gr 8 students)

Attention 8th Grade Parents,

On February 26, 2026 the Bacon Academy School Counseling Department will be visiting WJJMS to provide students with information about Bacon Academy and to assist them in entering their course requests for the 2026-2027 school year. Please carefully review the attached Freshman Course Selection Letter, 2026-2027 Bacon Academy Program of Studies, and Course Selection Sheet with your student so that they are ready to submit course selections on February 26th. If your student has questions, please encourage them to ask Mrs. Merwin.

Attention 7th & 8th Grade Parents/Guardians

We are excited to share that we have three remaining spots available for our upcoming student trip to Costa Rica. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to experience a new culture, practice real-world learning, and participate in an unforgettable educational adventure.
If your child is interested in joining us, please note that registration must be completed by March 5 to secure one of the remaining spots.
If you would like more information you can go to explorica.com or reach out to Profe Liska or Profe Morgan. Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Thank you for your continued support, and we hope to welcome a few more students on this exciting trip!

Warm regards,
Profes Morgan and Liska

Freezin' for a Reason

During the weekend of February 13th - 15th Fred Brown, Greg Cordova and Rob Suchecki will be camping on the Colchester Town Green to raise money for the Colchester Fuel Bank. Freezin' for a Reason is entering it's 17th year. In the first 16 years, with your help, they raised $192,000.00 for the Fuel Bank.

This year with the frigid temps the need is greater than ever for fuel assistance. Please help them to help our neighbors in need.

Donations can be made through PayPal freezinforareason@yahoo.com
or you can visit them on the green that weekend anytime Friday, Saturday, or before noon on Sunday!
