The Writing Center practicum students presented a college essay workshop to the junior class during the Bobcat Block on 5/15.  The tutors introduced the juniors to the college essay, provided tips for picking a topic and organization, then guided students through a brainstorming activity to help pick a topic.  You can review the presentation here!  

The tutors encouraged students to bring their drafts to the writing center.  Writers who visit the writing center to work on their college essay will be entered into a raffle to win a Starbucks gift card!

Milania Shilosky has been tearing up the track for 11 years, and this season is shaping up to be the biggest yet!

The accomplishments speak for themselves: at just 11 years old, she became the most winning female driver in Waterford Speedbowl history, holding records for most consecutive wins in a season, most total wins, and most wins in a season in the bandolero class. To date, she has 4 championships and 58 total wins across karts, bandoleros, and trucks under her belt.

What makes this program even more impressive is that it's entirely family-run! Last year the team even built a pro truck completely from scratch!
